This session will educate on how to diagnose and effectively treat Borderline Personality Disorder. It will also review differential diagnoses. This session will identify barriers to treatment in working with this population and how to overcome these barriers.
This session will identify the pros and cons to group therapy as a treatment modality. It will identify which populations group therapy is most and least effective for. This session will review common difficult behaviors and how to manage them effectively in the group setting.
This session will provide information on the prevalence of addiction and trauma. It will identify evidence-based techniques to utilize in treating those with addiction and trauma. This session will also discuss common pitfalls in working with clients with trauma and addiction and how to avoid and/or recover from those pitfalls.
This session will provide an overview of common cross addictions/process addictions for clients with substance addiction including eating disorders, gambling, and non-suicidal self-injury. It will introduce evidence-based screening tools to identify various process addictions and determine when to refer to other forms of treatment. This session will also train on how to have conversations with clients around these cross addictions/process addictions.
This session will provide an overview of self-harm and common reasons that clients engage in this behavior. It will discuss how to identify and discuss this behavior with clients. This session will also introduce therapeutic techniques that can be used in the treatment of NSSI.
This session will provide an overview of DSM 5-TR diagnoses for serious mental illnesses including schizophrenia, delusional disorder, and schizoaffective disorder. This session will discuss how these diagnoses interact with addiction. It will identify common struggles in treating this population and common pitfalls in working with this population. This session will educate on how to effectively work with this population and when to refer to additional resources.
This session will provide information on how to effectively navigate conflict in the workplace. It will educate on healthy conflict in the workplace vs unhealthy conflict in the workplace and how to turn unhealthy conflict into healthy conflict. It will also provide education on various conflict management styles and how to recognize your own style and effectively work with other styles.
This session will educate on commonly misdiagnosed disorders including depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders. It will provide information on how to effectively diagnose and screen for differential diagnoses using the DSM 5-TR and evidence-based screening tools.
This session will provide education on setting and maintaining boundaries in inpatient/residential/sober living settings. It will discuss how setting and maintaining boundaries can be used as a treatment approach and review how and when to set boundaries. This session will also identify common struggles with boundaries in these settings and discuss techniques for preventing and addressing these issues.
This session will educate on various forms of resistance and how to work with resistance in both clients and in staff/peers. It will provide information on how to recognize personal feelings regarding resistance and how to manage those feelings. It will also educate on various approaches to managing resistance and creating change and how to identify which approach to take in managing resistance and creating change.
